The Lifestyle of Central Oregon allows people to enjoy continued good health and life longevity. With 300+ days of sunshine, your backyard is nature’s playground. Fly fishing, skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, boating, rafting, and just about any other verb you can think of to describe outdoor activities is within less than an hour in any direction. Central Oregon is home to Mt. Bachelor, one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest ski areas with over 3,000 acres of lift accessed terrain. Mt. Bachelor also has many cross-country ski options, from machine groomed trails to miles of untracked terrain from many of the snow parks located on Century Drive. Mt. Bachelor was recently named as one of National Geographics top 25 places to ski in the world! Central Oregon also boasts 30+ golf courses, 6 rivers and countless lakes and streams, hundreds of trails of single track bike trails, Smith Rock State Park, an international destination for rock climbing, the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Hwy for biking, hiking and sightseeing, and the High Desert Museum for wild life viewing and the history of the High Desert. Oh, one more thing. Central Oregonians love their dogs. We take them everywhere- to work, to play, and to dog parks to socialize with other dogs!

The Central Oregon Lifestyle also offers many cultural events and art exhibits. The Tower Theatre offers many national and international performances from music to concerts and comedy, films, art exhibits, civic gatherings, and many social events. The Les Schwab Amphitheater in the Old Mill District is a riverfront setting on the Deschutes River. It seats approximately 8,000 and attracts many well known performers such as Pink Martini, Sugarland, Bob Dylan, and more.

There is always something going on in Central Oregon! Besides all the indoor and outdoor activities, there are dozens of festivals, parades and events that attract thousands of visitors each year.
